We are proud to share that Lakefront Fresh Produce has been awarded the Silver Medal in the Rural Development Champion category at Zimbabwe's 2026 Business Excellence Awards. The recognition specifically cited our Community Resilience Initiative.
The award belongs to the fourteen village cooperatives, the 300+ trained farmers, the extension officers who spend their days walking fields, and the customers who buy our produce because they believe in where it comes from. The medal simply summarises their work.
We were selected from a strong field of Zimbabwean businesses working in rural development. The judging panel highlighted our integrated model — combining training, nursery services, aggregation, and value addition — as evidence of a sustainable rather than a project-based approach.
For us, the award is a checkpoint, not a destination. Our target for the next three years is to triple the number of farmers in the Community Resilience Initiative and to bring at least three new value-added product lines to market alongside KaBlaze™.
Thank you to every partner, buyer, funder and farmer who made this possible. There is a lot of work still to do — and we are only just getting started.
