From Field to Bottle: The KaBlaze™ Journey

KaBlaze™ started with a simple frustration: Zimbabwe grows some of the most flavourful chillies on the continent, but the vast majority are exported raw. The value — the branding, the shelf life, the margin — was leaving the country with the containers.

Our answer was a locally produced range of chilli sauces built around the peri-peri and bird's-eye varieties we already grow. Sweet Chilli, Chilli & Garlic, Lemon & Herb, and Hot — a range designed to sit as comfortably on a family dinner table as it does in a restaurant kitchen.

Every bottle starts with fruit harvested by our contracted smallholder farmers. Chillies are graded, washed and pulped within hours of picking to preserve heat and colour. Recipes are batch-cooked, bottled and labelled at our production facility, then shipped to retail partners and food service customers.

The impact is measurable. Farmers earn more per kilogram from processing-grade chilli than from raw export. Our production team is fully employed year-round instead of seasonally. And Zimbabwean consumers finally have a premium hot sauce with their own story on the label.

KaBlaze™ is more than a product line. It is proof that value addition, done properly, can rewrite the economics of an entire crop.
